RazorKutt consists of two members: Itumeleng Mapheng (a.k.a. ShotGun) and Bongani Nkosi (a.k.a. Mapensela). The duo started working together when ShotGun produced a track called “ISGHUBU” for Imbube, a Hip-Hop group Mapensela was in at the time. The track exceeded all of their expectations and ShotGun and Mapensela knew that they had struck on a successful formula. Now working as RazorKutt, the duo hooked-up with a producer called Proff and set about defining a new breed of feel-good music. They now refer to their unique blend of Kwaito, House and Hip-Hop as “Jukebox Music” because of it’s wide appeal and party vibe.
RazorKutt has been working hard behind the scenes and they have caught the attention of many industry players. They have a full album in the works at The Cooler, a self-produced a music video for their track Umshado Ka Themba, have had two songs on YFM’s Hot 99, produced an award winning track with Zimbabwean artist Anderson Mamimine and finished fourth in the MTN8 Last Muso Standing song competition…as virtual unknowns! RazorKutt is currently working with The Cooler, MTN and Content Connect Africa to go BIG in 2015. The time is now!
